Responsibilities:

  • Greet and guide customers into the sale process as they appear in the store
  • Help customers find a vehicle which meets their needs by using current inventory sheets
  • Enhance the sales process by demonstrating vehicle features
  • Support customers in the completion of their sales applications
  • Assist management to increase sales by inspecting the lot's vehicles daily, reporting any problems to management
  • Help management in ensuring the lot is merchandised correctly to maximize sales

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Consultant is directly responsible for selling vehicles at dealership gross profit, volume and customer satisfaction standards.  

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Focus on understanding and meeting customer needs
  • Explain features and demonstrate operation of vehicle in showroom or on road
  • Compute and quote sales price (including tax, trade-in allowance, license fee, and discounts) and requirements for financing payment of vehicle on credit
  • Demonstrate the ability to negotiate and be capable of addressing customer hesitation
  • Suggest optional equipment for customer to purchase
  • Arrange for delivery and registration of vehicle
  • Introduce customers to service department personnel to emphasize to customers the quality and efficiency of the dealership's service operations
  • Maintain and utilize CRM database in a thorough and ethical manner
  • Work with the Sales Manager to set personal sales goals and follow a method to achieve those objectives through training and consultations
  • Keep up-to-date on new products, features, accessories, etc. and their benefits to customers
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed

  • General housekeeping – maintaining a clean and efficient work area free of debris and clutter

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Basic knowledge of automotive mechanics and a thorough understanding of prices, models, series, options, and other variations of the selling manufacturers' products, as well as competitive products and prices
  • Self-motivated and ethical with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • High motivation, work ethic, and enthusiasm with a professional appearance and attitude
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Some computer knowledge and/or experience
  • Ability to use a computer and navigate through a custom CRM
  • High school diploma, or equivalent, required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test
